I may have several hundred diecast VWs but I somehow don’t have a red T1 like from Alice’s Restaurant

Quick story time. I’ve got a friend who is a budding musician. The “made it big enough to be touring nationally but have to do it with the entire band in a mid-2000s Ford Fusion” variety.

Anyway, she was doing a show out in Becket, MA, not that from where I live, so I went up. It was a small venue with a restaurant on one side of the building and a music room on the other. The concert was good, my friend did awesome. I stuck around to chat with her a bit after the place closed . While we were chatting the sound of ukuleles and a tiny voice floated over from the restaurant side. We go over to investigate and there’s a young (10, maybe 12) girl singing and playing a uke with the facility owner. Turns out the girl was Arlo’s granddaughter. Arlo lives only 15 minutes away so he and his family are regulars there.

I saw Arlo Guthrie in 1996 in Butte Montana. It was a very memorable event.

A family friend went to an Arlo Guthrie concert @10-15 years ago. Someone in the audience had never heard Alice’s Resturant and yelled to get on with the song already. He dragged it on for 45 minutes.
